  As parents, we say many things to our kids every day… We give reminders about school, we check if they have done their errands, we ask if they ate healthy snacks, and so on.  But what if I tell you, of all the stuff that we tell our kids every day, there are 4 simple sentences that are essential for us to tell them every day?  Let us start with the first one.   I love you! The most important message that our kids need to hear from us every day is “I love you!”  “I love you without any conditions!” As a parent, it is important to understand that it is our job to love our children unconditionally.  No matter how they show up, tell them “I love you!” Even if they mess up, the message is still the same - “I love you!” Letting our kids know that we love them is such a powerful message that triggers positive emotions and feelings of security.                    ...

Generosity is a value that pleases God. In Hebrews 13:16, the passage is telling us that God blesses us continuously so that we have something to share with others.  We always have something to share — it may be material things that we no longer need or use, it may be food that is more than what our body needs for sustenance, or it may be ourselves or our personal time by being present to those who are lonely or anxious.  This passage is also reminding us that generosity is a choice. Every single day on Earth, we always have the chance to become generous with people who have been carefully placed in our world for us to be with. This reminds me of the message of Brother Bo from The Feast family, who said that one of our major tasks in our lives is to make one part of the Lord’s Prayer “Thy Kingdom come… on Earth as it is in Heaven” come to reality.   The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  People say that everything happens for a reason.  They even say that there is a purpose for every difficult situation that we encounter. But have you ever experienced a hardship in life that makes no sense for you at all? Have you ever questioned the Lord, “Why is this happening to me?!” At some point in our lives, we have experienced some fierce lows that may have crushed our spirits and have broken our hearts.   Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harms. - Proverbs 13:20 Imagine that you are looking at a flight of birds who are headed in the same direction. More often than not, a flock of birds have the same intention, the same purpose, the same agenda. After all, birds of the same feather flock together. This is also true with people. More often than not, people, regardless of age, stay together because they have something in common. Maybe, at first, in the process of knowing each other, they may still be different from one another, but in deciding to stick together, they begin to acquire the same interests and do the same activities together. In Proverbs 13:20, God is challenging us to be wise in choosing the people we decide to be with. There are many things about life that we already know, but there are a few things in life that should be highlighted in order to catch our attention.  Why?
